In July, Global Deaf Research Institute began early-stage research on the experiences of deaf refugees and connected with the World Institute on Disability while advancing partnerships with the World Federation of the Deafblind and the International Federation of Hard of Hearing People. The organization also planned its next national deaf needs assessment in the Dominican Republic for March and celebrated a $1,098 SF Marathon fundraiser led by community runner Zamica Gage.

From Berlin to the UN: GDRI’s Growing Global Impact

From the Global Disability Summit in Berlin to the United Nations Conference of State Parties, GDRI has spent the past six months deepening global partnerships and advocating for deaf inclusion at the highest levels. With the relaunch of their flagship initiative as Deaf Voices Counted and an upcoming expansion into the Dominican Republic, GDRI continues to center deaf-led, community-driven research worldwide.
